If you do a personal assessment of how you spend every hour of your day, you’ll be surprised to discover how much time you spend being unproductive and how much more time you can spare each day. According to a study, we spend only 39% of our work day being productive.
How do I know this? I tried this myself and I discovered that even though I was very busy each day, there was at least 3 hours in the day that I spent not doing anything in particular.
One of my goals for 2018 was to start a podcast. However, I kept postponing it every month because I thought my schedule was full and I couldn’t possibly fit anything in there.
Over the years, time has become both my most scarce and my most valuable resource. In fact, I value my time much more than I value my money because I c7an make more money when I lose it but I cannot make more time when I waste it.
Because of this I regularly assess how I’m using my time each day and what I can do to make better use of my time.
Conduct a personal audit of how you spend your time every day. Try accounting for every hour of your day. You will discover that you also spend a lot of time not doing anything in particular.
That is free time that you can leverage to do something productive.
