This year one of the things I wanted to do was start a podcast. I spoke to some friends who thought it was a good idea. I made plans…but weeks went by and I still didn’t start. I kept giving myself many excuses.
Finally, I told myself this week…hey, I’m going to do this and commit to it. I spent the week reading and watching videos about podcasting and then ordered some basic podcasting equipment from Amazon.
But then I told myself, while I wait for my gear to arrive, I can still start something no matter how crappy it looks…. so here we are..
I am starting 2 new Podcasts…
1. #AskAnEntepreneur Podcast– where people can ask questions relating to business and entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, how to get started, etc. And I’ll answer them or get experts to answer them on the show. I’m doing this because every week I get emails from people asking for advice and I keep having to answer the same questions from different people. I felt a podcast would be a great way for people to get access to all of this info.
2. The African Entrepreneur Podcast– In the African Entrepreneur Podcast, we will discuss issues related to business and entrepreneurship in a way which is culturally relevant to aspiring and upcoming entrepreneurs in Africa. The problem here is that there is a ton of info about business and entrepreneurship on the internet, but they are mostly written by people in the west. Even though a lot of the advice is good, a lot of it is not applicable locally in our African setting.
On the other hand, we have really great entrepreneurs here in Africa who have accomplished a lot but are too busy or do not have the capacity to build a platform to share their insights and wealth of experience with upcoming entrepreneurs in Africa. The African Entrepreneur Podcast will bring in such people and have them share their unique stories and insights to inspire these upcoming entrepreneurs.
I need your support to make this possible. Let me know what kind of stuff you’ll want me to talk about on the show, which people to interview, how long each episode should be and stuff like that.
If you have any questions you would also want me to answer about business and entrepreneurship, just leave them in the comments section below or email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’m pretty pumped up about this…..and I’ll put in a lot of effort to make it work. This is my first attempt at making a podcast. Even though the video is crappy, I still put it out there anyway because I don’t believe that you have to be perfect to get something started. I want to listen to this episode one year from now and laugh at myself…..and also so others can be inspired to JUST START!!
